IR and Hand Coloring
Am playing with some of the alternative processes and the IR imaging. There is so much to learn, technical, artistic. Why why why? Why do I get a color ring around my focus point? So much, why not add another dynamic to it? Here's the results of today's playing.

You get a color ring around the focus point (moreover to the center of the image) because of the lens you use. there are lenses and lenses, some are good for IR photography, others aren't. It is called Hot Spot and appears on many lenses when shooting in IR.
I don't know what camera and lens you use, but I can tell from my experience that the 18-70 DX from Nikon is perfect for IR photography. Also I'm having some good results with the 70-210 F4 and minor hot spot with the 50 mm F1.8.
Worst results I got with the Tokina 12-24 mm.
