Blurring the Lines: Art Journaling and Visual Storytelling
Break out of your routine in this retreat-style workshop and give yourself the gift of creative space and time as you explore and grow in wildly different directions. Learn techniques to create a visual journal as you work with prompts and ideas that will be sure to inspire you! Allow your creativity to flow free as you blend writing, photography, collage, imagery and color to create a beautiful art journal and visual diary. More than a how-to class, we focus on the creative process itself, and how to develop your unique artistic voice through mixed media exploration.

Macro & Close-Up Photography: An Outdoor Workshop at UCSC Arboretum (Cabrillo College Extension Workshop)
Focus your lens on the small details of life and be prepared to look at the world around you in a whole new way! Enjoy a day outdoors at UCSC Arboretum where we will enjoy focusing our lenses on the extraordinary details found in the extensive gardens and rare plant collections.
You can use a cell phone, point and shoot or DSLR camera during the workshop. We will review the unique aspects of macro photography: tools, lighting, focusing approaches, as well as creative composition techniques.

Painting with Light: On Location in Capitola Village - Cell phone friendly!
Have you ever wondered how a photographer made the ocean water look marble smooth, or streaked lights across an urban landscape? Be prepared to take your photographs from ordinary to extraordinary in this on-location workshop in Capitola village and at the Capitola wharf. Add mystery and glamor to your photos as you explore new techniques that will allow you to produce incredible shots, whether using your cell phone or a digital camera.
Class will begin on campus at Cabrillo, take a one hour dinner break, then meet again in Capitola to begin our evening of on-location photography!
